I can’t tell you the number of times I have laughed at what Dawn French was doing. It doesn’t seem to matter what type of show she was on, it was guaranteed to be funny. It was true of her standup routines as well as her role on the Vicar of Dibley but perhaps some of her funniest parts came when she was working with Jennifer Saunders. It seems that they were able to play off of each other so well that a laugh was always on the way.
In this clip, they are doing a routine from the 1989 Comedy Relief show. I couldn’t think of a better pair to make us laugh. They are teaming up with Bananarama in this video to do a song and dance, The song that was chosen was from the Beatles, one of their more famous numbers, Help. The problem was, they weren’t supposed to be there so they kept getting in the way.
Bananarama was formed in 1979 as an English female pop vocal group. They have the distinction of holding the most chart entries worldwide. This particular song might not make the list but with French and Saunders, it sure does make us laugh.
