When we work with people on a day in, day out basis we sometimes may feel that we know them, but we don’t often know what goes on under the surface. That is also the case on the Vicar of Dibley, and there were a lot of things that were learned when they had a talent show. It seemed as if everyone was getting involved, including Jim, but he gave a little bit more than anyone was expecting.
Jim stood in front of everyone and did his best Full Monty, dancing in a tiny bikini and eventually, tearing the bikini off and hiding himself with his hat. He even threw the bikini out to the audience, and it was caught by Alice Tinker, who had the biggest smile on her face! When he threw the hat away, however, I think it took everyone by surprise even more.
You never quite know what you are going to get into when you look under the surface. When you are with people on a regular basis, you might be missing some of the most interesting things about them. I don’t think anybody is missing anything about Jim any longer.
